Peter Schütze has been chairman of Falck Group since 2015 and is also vice-chairman of the board of The Lundbeck Foundation, Falck's majority owner. During his tenure, Falck has gone through a tremendous development:

"Together with the management team we have successfully strengthened and professionalised Falck and secured a strong financial foundation. Today, Falck is well positioned for growth and further development. I would like to thank the board of directors, CEO Jakob Riis, and the rest of the top management for very good cooperation during a challenging period,” says Peter Schütze.

The new chairman of the board, Niels Smedegaard has been a member of Falck's board of directors since 2016 and is the former CEO of the Danish company DFDS. Today, Niels Smedegaard is professional board member with chairmanships of ISS, Abacus Medicine, Molslinjen and The Bikuben Foundation. He looks forward to taking up the position as chairman and continue the cooperation with Falck's board and management – a work that will focus on realising Falck's strategy towards 2025.

"I am very pleased with the confidence the board shows me. Falck is an international leader within its field and is on an exciting journey towards becoming an integrated healthcare company. Last year, we announced an ambitious strategy on how to develop Falck and increase the business towards 2025. We are well on our way to implementing the strategy, and with Falck's strengthened position, the owners and the board believe that the time is right to uncover Falck's full potential and consider a possible future IPO," says Niels Smedegaard.
