The security situation in Turkey has been assessed to be stable after the weekend’s attempted coup. All airports are open, and several travel agencies and airline carriers are yet again offering travels to Turkish destinations. The situation is reported to be normal and calm in tourist areas.
The situation is under control, but larger cities are still marked by unrest. Travellers should be aware that there will be continuous investigations regarding the attempted coup the next couple of weeks, and it is estimated that internal tensions will remain in the country, but mainly in and around the larger cities.
The Ministries are monitoring the situation closely and will evaluate continuously. Travellers are advised to be cautious and stay informed via national and international media, and through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Reactions after returnTravellers who have experienced the situation or otherwise been affected by it, can experience delayed reactions and symptoms of stress.
