Jan Steenhard leaves Falck
25-Jun. 2008
Jan Steenhard, Senior Vice President, New Ventures, has decided to stop his career
with Falck effective 1 July to realise his dreams of working as an entrepreneur.
“I
am very enthusiastic about becoming an entrepreneur. I find it very exciting to help identify and create
new business opportunities for small and medium-sized companies and to develop them. The opportunity
to work on a wider range of projects than those relating to Falck is just too tempting,” said Steenhard,
who over the years has participated in starting up projects ranging all the way from production of Italian
ice cream to the Copenhagen city bikes.
He looks back on his time with
Falck with great pleasure and pride.
“I am leaving Falck with mixed
feelings. It’s been a great pleasure to work for the company and I have met many good people and found
very good and very different challenges in the organisation. The reason I have been so long with Falck
is that I consider Falck to be a very innovative and vigorous company”, said Steenhard.
Jan
Steenhard has been with Falck for seven years. During his career with Falck, he has been director of
Falck Healthcare – a company he co-founded under the name of Willis Healthcare and which was sold to
Falck in 2001, after which the name of the company was changed to Falck Healthcare. In addition, Steenhard
has been divisional director of the Assistance business. In February 2008, Jan Steenhard was appointed
divisional director of New Ventures, a position designed specifically to him in close collaboration
with Falck’s CEO, Allan Søgaard Larsen, in order to use Steenhard’s unique entrepreneurial qualities.
Originally, Jan Steenhard had contemplated striking camp already last winter, but he was tempted by
the opportunity to identify and launch new projects within the Falck Group.
Falck’s
CEO, Allan Søgaard Larsen, is sorry about Steenhard’s decision, but thanks him for his work for
Falck.
“I had hoped that we could have kept Jan and his good qualities
with Falck for longer, but his longing for new challenges was too great, and we must accept his decision.
We are also pleased to note that Falck is the company able to keep him the longest. We are all very
thankful for everything Jan has contributed to Falck during his years with us, and I wish him good luck
in his future career,” said Søgaard Larsen.
Jan Steenhard will complete
his projects with Falck and will continue as a consultant for the company, initially for a period of
at least two years.
