Falck acquires Swedish company
25-Aug. 2008
Constantly pursuing its international growth ambitions, Falck has acquired Swedish-based Ulfabgruppen, a company providing ambulance services, temporary healthcare staff, patient transport and first-aid training and other services in Sweden and Finland.
“The acquisition of the Ulfabgruppen is made as part of Falck’s continuing international expansion. We are now strengthening our existing positions in Sweden and Finland, not least within healthcare and ambulance services, by acquiring this well-functioning, family-owned company”, said Falck’s CEO, Allan Søgaard Larsen.
Ulfabgruppen has about 500 employees and generates annual revenue of more than 25 million euro. After the acquisition, Falck’s revenue in Sweden will reach approximately 80 million euro.
The founder and principal shareholder of Ulfabgruppen, Ulf Lindskog, is pleased to pass on his life’s work to Falck.
“I’m very pleased to sell to one of Europe’s leading rescue and assistance companies, an operator which also has strong ambitions in the healthcare field. This will give our employees good development opportunities, and I have discussed the sale to Falck with our customers, who can look forward to getting a high quality service provider,” said Ulf Lindskog.
Most of Ulfabgruppen’s activities are based in Central Sweden. Falck operates ambulance services in several parts of Sweden, provides road-side assistance to Swedish car owners and offers a number of healthcare services to staff in Swedish private and public-sector organisations. In addition to Denmark and Sweden, Falck has operations in 15 countries and expects to continue its geographic expansion.
