1998-: Chairman of the Board of the “Ambuce Rescue Team”
1992-2006: Anesthesiologist in the intensive care unit, surgery theatres and emergency care unit of the Sint Augustinus Hospital in Antwerp.
1995:received as a Medical Specialist in Anesthesiology  the extra title of specialization in emergency medicine and also in the specialization in  intensive care medicine.
1992-1998: Coordinating Head of Emergency Services at Sint Augustinus Hospital in Antwerp.
1991-1992: Responsible for trauma care at the emergency services as well as the intensive care units of Antwerp University Institute.
1991: Anesthesiologist at the Sint Camillus Hospital in Antwerp (Intensive Care).
1986-1991: Medical specialist training in anesthesiology at Antwerp University Institute (54 months) and at the General Hopital Stuivenberg.
