Falck plants flag in seven new countries
19-Nov. 2008

Falck will be moving into seven new
countries; this will help solidify its position as the world's leading
provider of safety training for the offshore sector.
Thus, Falck's training
division will now be present in 14 countries on five continents. The new Falck countries are: USA, Nigeria,
Angola, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Russia. Totally, Falck is now present in 22 countries with
activities going on in the business areas Assistance, Healthcare, Assistance and Training, employing
more than 16.000 people.
"We are placing our new training centres
close
to the oil and gas plants at all our locations. It is important to us to locate our training centres
close to our big customers among the global oil and gas companies. This will enable us to provide safety
and rescue training to their employees at the highest level all over the world", says Falck CEO,
Allan
Soegaard Larsen.
Employees working at places like oil rigs are supposed
to be capable of handling fires, accidents, diseases and evacuation themselves, because assistance from
the mainland could take a significant amount of time reaching its destination – and sometimes the weather
conditions are so difficult that assistance is not possible at all.
Last
year, Falck provided the training for 140,000 people who received training of the highest standards
in the business and Falck Training reached a turnover of 102 million euro.
"Next
year we expect to train around 200,000 people and expect our turnover to be over 135 million euro",
says Senior Vice President of Falck Training, Peter Svarrer.
In several
of the new Falck countries, especially USA, Falck intends to use its influence to introduce other Falck
services like healthcare, ambulance service and fire fighting.
Falcks
expects the expansion of Falck's training centres to continue in the years to come.
"Venezuela,
Mexico, North Africa, the Middle East and Australia are among the places we are considering", says
Peter
Svarrer.
