Falck wins ambulance contracts in the Capital Region of Denmark

At its meeting Tuesday evening, the Regional Council for the Capital Region of Denmark considered the bids tendered for the region's ambulance services. The result was that Falck was awarded contracts for four of the six sub-areas into which the Council had divided its request for proposals.

This was the maximum it was possible to win, as the tender conditions provided that no one tenderer could be awarded more than four of the six contracts. Falck was awarded contracts for the four areas comprising the northern part of the region, the suburban municipalities and the island of Bornholm. The two central areas – City West and City East – were awarded to the Copenhagen Fire Brigade.

"I am very pleased that we have lived up to the Capital Region's requirements with respect to quality, supply security and economy. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the regional authorities, and we will do our utmost to live up to the great responsibility involved in providing fast, reliable and efficient ambulance services to the residents of the Capital Region," said Falck Regional Director Jørgen Mieritz.
The new contract runs for six years starting in February 2016, but it cannot be signed before the ten-days deadline for filing complaints has expired.
