Ambulances for Finland

After a couple of years without Falck ambulances in Finland, Falck is taking over three stations and will provide five ambulances and three back-up vehicles in the cities of Kotka and Hamina approximately 150 kilometres east of Helsinki.

Falck won the tender for the ambulance services at local hospital Carea and will be employing approximately 35 people and assisting about 90,000 people in the area.

Senior Vice President Bo Eklund is pleased with the fact that Falck ambulances are, once again, present in Finland.
“Falck has people assisting with roadside services in Finland already and it almost felt wrong not being present in Finland with ambulances. We discontinued our service in Finland when the country decided to insource the ambulance service. Now, after a legislative change, a total of 22 health care districts are responsible for the tenders and it is only natural for Falck to react to this,” says Bo Eklund.
“There are more Finnish tenders coming up and I believe that, considering our experience and size, Falck has a good chance of securing more ambulance tenders in the future,” says Bo Eklund.
