Falck acquires outpatient clinics in Poland

Falck has acquired a majority stake in the company Starowka which operates four primary care, specialist care and day surgery clinics in Warzaw and the Central part of Poland.
Since the inception ten years ago, the Starowka clinics have shown rapid organic growth above the expanding market for private healthcare in Poland. Dr. Kamil Hasan Hadi, the founder and a key factor to Starowka's success, will continue as day-to-day manager of the four clinics.
Starowka will be added to Falck's already existing healthcare business line in Poland. The acquisition of Starowka makes Falck one of the largest privately owned providers of publicly funded healthcare in Poland. Falck already runs 15 Polish outpatient clinics that provided consultations to more than 50,000 citizens in 2010.

Managing Director of Falck in Poland, Katarzyna Czajka, said of the transaction:
“We are extremely pleased to be able to add such a high quality set of clinics to our already existing portfolio. This acquisition will ultimately benefit our clients and further strengthen Falck's position in the Polish healthcare market."
In addition to its healthcare clinics, Falck has been running ambulance services in Poland since 1993 and is now responsible for almost 100 ambulances in the country.
