In the beginning of June this year Falck conducted basic first aid courses in Dubai for nearly 100 people from Denmark, Asia, and the Middle East.
2 – 5 June 2011 Falck conducted basic first aid courses in Dubai at the invitation of several Danes in Dubai, who wanted a first aid course of Falck standard. Rebecca Kehberg, Project Manager Falck Middle East, took the ownership of the project and arranged the courses and logistics behind for the nearly 100 participants from both the business and private sector.
Brian Hansen and Lars Karlsen, first aid instructors from Falck’s management, flew from Denmark to Dubai to teach basic first aid divided into four modules: anatomy, 4 main rules of First Aid, basic life support, and demonstrations. Maids, children, and adults participated side by side, and took active part in the teaching and demonstrations.
Besides Danes, students from Asia and the Middle East were also present, which contributed to the interesting educational environment for both instructors and students. Throughout the days laughter, seriousness, and joy were evident, and the students were delighted to gain all the knowledge and tools of basic first aid.
“It is incredible what we in Falck can accomplish due to our Danish roots. The great support from the Danish community made the courses a huge success,” states Rebecca Kehberg, Project Manager. She hopes to be able to conduct courses regularly in the future and to an audience beyond the Danish society.
Marc de Beer, Managing Director Falck Middle East, was delighted that Falck’s first aid courses were launched to the private sector, and hopes to be able to repeat the success, he stated, ”The positive feedback from the students is a credit to the team, we hope to continue with similar first aid training initiatives in the future”.
